Dr. Williams to Speak at the Women’s Heart Symposium
Dr. Cynthia Williams is pleased to be among the physicians participating in the 2026 Women’s Cardiology Symposium at Torrance Memorial on Friday, September 18. Her talk on Rethinking Menopausal Hormone Therapy to her fellow colleagues will be posted here.
The symposium brings healthcare professionals together for an important conversation about cardiovascular disease in women, with a focus on improving our understanding of the factors that influence a woman’s heart health throughout her lifetime.
Heart health is an especially important topic for women because cardiovascular risk can be influenced by far more than the symptoms we traditionally associate with heart disease. Metabolic health, blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, hormonal changes, family history and lifestyle can all be part of the larger picture.
As an internal medicine physician and endocrinologist, Dr. Williams has long emphasized the importance of looking beyond individual numbers or diagnoses and considering how the different systems of the body work together. Understanding and addressing risk factors early can play an important role in protecting long-term cardiovascular health.
The Women’s Cardiology Symposium provides an opportunity for physicians and other healthcare professionals to learn more about the latest thinking surrounding cardiovascular disease in women and bring that knowledge back to the patients they serve.
The 2026 symposium will be held Friday, September 18, through Torrance Memorial. Registration is required, and a virtual Zoom option is available for attendees.
Dr. Williams looks forward to participating in this important discussion and continuing to help women better understand the connection between their overall health and their heart health.
